FWA – Freiham Residential Ensemble (255 units)

Sustainable diversity

Compact constructions, opaque façades, triple pane glass, and optimized frame construction—informed by an express spirit of sustainability, the building economics measures taken for the Freiham residential ensemble are as varied as is the overall space use concept for the quarter in the west of Munich. Aside from 255 apartments with generous open spaces, there is also a number of public social and cultural facilities that is under construction at the Freiham development. On the ground floor of the building along Aubinger Alle, a cultural center will be so situated that contributes to community life as well as engages and uses the space around it. Two houses for children, a library with educational facilities, and a counseling center will continue the eclectic use concept which places the accessways to the upper-floor apartments each between two community facilities. This makes sure the residents are more likely to actively connect with the neighborhood they live in. Or in brief: This is where people get together! This is where sustainable diversity is created!
